I was very excited to read this book, i’m not going to lie. I was expecting something creepy, dark, thriller, something to keep me up at night. But the best thing i can say about this book is; don’t judge a book by its cover.

Summary according to goodreads:

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. Fiction is based on real black and white photographs. The death of grandfather Abe sends sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and explores abandoned bedrooms and hallways. The children may still live.

I found this book to be more historical with a dystopian aspect. It wasn’t at all creepy like the cover portrays, but it was still good and had some action in it. The boy ends up going on adventures with these kids to find out what kind of life his grandfather lived.

I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. Not at all how I thought it would be. Still good, the plot was quick and it was a hard book to put down. Can’t wait for the sequel to be released!
